Careering

Careering

We sat, still a little drunk, easing
into the hangover, and talked
about the oncoming rye toast,
what we thought we hilariously
referred to as the oddly chemical
twang of the chilli omelet,

the orgasms of the morning. There
was the soon to be abandoned
idea of some kind of dance
or performance. We stood outside
the Deli for a bit, as you smoked
a cigarette, then we wandered away.
