The Rogue Voice

A LITERARY JOURNAL WITH AN EDGE

December 01, 2006

half dead

half dead
face twisted
skeleton and flesh
beauty marked with pain
beaten
frozen
laughless and hard
pieces
pulled away like stringcheese

soul escapes

breath catches

as the heart screeches
quickly
scrambling to hide away
bits that remain
